Safety locks have such design that at reaching a certain value (on current) an overload in a contour their contact crossing point fuses, disconnecting thereby a chain and stopping circulation of current in it. Short circuit (see Search of causes of failures of electric equipment) appears the reason of such overloads most often.

The main safety locks and the relay are collected in the uniform assembly block equipped with a cover and installed at the left under the dashboard.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. For the purpose of ensuring access to safety locks turn a fixing clamp on a quarter of a turn and lower a cover of the assembly block, having separated it from the dashboard. The scheme of placement of safety locks in the assembly block is submitted on the illustration Scheme of Placement of Safety Locks in the assembly block located under the dashboard.

2. The additional assembly block is installed in a motive compartment, behind the rechargeable battery.

3. The scheme of an arrangement of safety locks in the additional assembly block located in a motive compartment is submitted on an illustration.
4. It is easy to identify the failed safety lock on the melted-off or burned down conducting crossing point.
5. For replacement of a safety lock previously disconnect the corresponding contour.

6. Open a cover of the assembly block, grasp the case of the beaten-out safety lock with the special nippers which are usually fixed in the block and pull it vertically up, taking out from the holder's plugs.

7. Special "deaf" nests for storage of spare safety locks are provided in the assembly block.
8. Before establishing a new safety lock instead of burned down, try to establish the reason of the overload taking place and to eliminate it. At all do not replace the beaten-out safety lock calculated on higher nominal (on current) loadings. Extremely vicious practice is restoration of the failed safety lock by a peremykaniye of its contacts by means of a metal foil.

Relay

On the design of the relay - an essence the switch working on an electric signal. Usually relays are used for:
   a) Remote inclusion of giving of VV of tension;
   b) Formations of the logical chains working on several, arriving from various sources entrance signals;
   c) Power off after control time (in timers).

The majority of the relays used on the car are placed in a back part of the main assembly block of safety locks (for ensuring access to one relays enough to uncover the assembly block, in other cases it is necessary to remove a carpet upholstery, or the lower section of finishing from the driver's party of the dashboard). The relay of an electric motor of the drive of a back screen wiper is placed in a door of a back and located under the panel of its internal upholstery. On some models additional relays are placed in the assembly block of safety locks located in a motive compartment (see above).


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If there are suspicions on the fact that the refusal any of electric contours is connected with failure of the relay of its management, include the corresponding system - the serviceable relay when giving of food on it has to publish distinctly heard click. If the click sounds, so malfunction of actually working component, or failure of an electrical wiring is a cause of failure. Otherwise, or violation of giving of food takes place, or the relay is faulty actually. Check of a condition of the relay is made by substitution on its place of obviously serviceable. At the same time it is worth to remember that external similarity of two relays at all not necessarily is a guarantee of identity of the principle of their functioning.
2. For replacement of the relay, first of all, switch off the corresponding electric contour. Then the relay can be easily removed from the seat by a pulling from a landing nest. Establish to the place of the removed relay new, with the corresponding working parameters.
