Check of the ATF level

THROUGH EACH 10 000 KM (6000 MILES) OF THE RUN OR TIME IN 12 MONTHS

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make a short trip on the car, having warmed up transmission up to the normal working temperature. Be parked on the flat horizontal platform, whenever possible with a hard coating. Check of level of transmission liquid is made by means of the special measuring probe located in a forward part of a motive compartment just before the engine block. The probe handle top for simplification of searches is usually painted in bright color.

2. Leave the engine working at single turns and transfer the AT selector lever to situation "P". Take the probe from the directing tube and dry wipe its edge with pure rags or a paper towel. Fill the probe back, having put it in a tube against the stop, then again take. Determine the ATF level by the size of the moistened site of an edge, - it has to be between the top and lower marks of the probe.

3. In case of need make the corresponding adjustment, having added the required amount of liquid through the directing probe tube. For convenience use a funnel.

You watch that the ATF level did not rise above the top mark.

4. Having finished adjustment, make on the car a short trip for the purpose of distribution of ATF on surfaces of internal components of transmission, then repeat check of level. In case of need add missing amount of liquid.
5. You watch that liquid level constantly was in transmission between the lower and top marks in an edge of the measuring probe. Remember that the lack of ATF can lead to serious internal damages of transmission.
6. Need of frequent performance of adjustment of the ATF level demonstrates development of leaks which source has to be immediately revealed, and the cause is removed.
