Removal, partition and installation of the power unit - model with AT

Removal

Dismantle of the engine from the car is possible only assembled with transmission. The partition of the power unit for the purpose of carrying out capital repairs of the engine can be made later.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Perform the procedures described in the section Removal subsection "Removal", a partition and installation of the power unit - model with RKPP (the procedure of depletion of transmission is provided in the Head Routine maintenance).
2. According to the instructions provided in the section Automatic transmission perform the following procedures:
   a) Pick up the directing phone of the probe of measurement of the ATF level;
   b) Disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor switch of inhibitor of starters/fires of a backing and a casing of the drive of a speedometer. Disconnect the grounding tire(s) from the top part of a case of transmission;
   c) Disconnect a driving cable of the choice of transfers;
   d) Disconnect a speedometer drive cable / disconnect an electrical wiring from the speed sensor.

Separation of the transmission from the engine

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Install the power unit taken from the car on pair of wooden blocks or a strong workbench.
2. Disconnect a driving cable of inclusion of the kick-down mode from a throttle cam. Moving along a cable back, release it from intermediate clamps. Try to remember a route of laying of a cable.
3. Turn out bolts and remove a plate of the lower cover of a driving disk from a transmission case, having provided thereby access to rotation converter bolts. Weaken and turn out the first available bolt, then, turning a bent shaft for a pulley bolt, serially give the remained converter bolts (all their three).
4. Turn out fixing bolts and remove a starter.
5. Block the rotation converter, приболтив a metal plate to one of bolted openings of fastening of a starter, for the purpose of prevention of its loss in the course of office of transmission.
6. Check reliability of supporting of the engine and transmission, then turn out bolts of fastening of a case of the last to the block of cylinders. Remember the adjusting provision of each of the taken bolts and arms fixed by them and holders. At assembly all components have to be installed strictly on former places, in case of need put landing tags.
7. Accurately separate AT from the engine. Take from the nests in the interfaced surfaces of a case of the engine or AT freely put directing pins and move away them to the reliable place.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If transmission was separated from the engine, perform the procedures described in subitem 2 — 8. Otherwise, you pass directly to item 9.
2. Make sure that the plug put on the central part of a bent shaft is in good repair. Slightly grease with lubricant like Molykote G1 the aligning rotation converter finger. Try not to apply too much lubricant in order to avoid risk of pollution of the converter.
3. Track correctness of installation of guides of pins in nests in the interfaced surfaces of the engine or transmission.
4. Carefully bring assembly of transmission to the engine and put her on the directing pins.
5. Screw bolts of fastening of a case of transmission to the engine block. Track that all arms and holders removed in the course of dismantle were established under the bolts. Tighten fixture with the required effort.
6. Remove the metal strip fixing the rotation converter, achieve combination of carving openings in the converter with openings in the bearing plate and screw all three fixing bolts.
7. Tighten bolts of fastening of the converter with the required effort, then establish into place the lower cover of a driving disk.
8. Establish a starter. Strongly tighten fixing bolts.
9. Start assembly of the power unit on the regular place in a motive compartment of the car (see Removal, a partition and installation of the power unit - model about RKPP, the subsection "Installation", subitem 11 — 16).
10. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Pay attention to the next moments:
   a) Track correctness of laying and reliability of fastening in intermediate clamps of plaits of an electrical wiring;
   b) Before introduction of power shafts to transmission replace their epiploons (see. Automatic transmission);
   c) Track correctness of connection and reliability of fastening of hoses of cooling and heating paths;
   d) Do not forget to execute adjustment of a driving cable of inclusion of the kick-down mode, also adjust a cable of the choice of transfers (see. Automatic transmission);
   e) Adjust a gas cable (see appropriate section of the Head of the Power supply system and release);
   f) Fill in the necessary number of oil/ATF of the required grade in the engine and transmission (see. Manual box of gear shifting).
   g) Fill the cooling system (address the Head Routine maintenance).
