Removal and installation of the drive of a speedometer



1. Prop up antiretractable boots back wheels, then a front of the car and establish to a poddomkratta it on props. The drive of a speedometer is located in a back part of the transmission, near an entry point in differential of the right power shaft. Depending on a model complete set the drive can have a mechanical (hummock) design, or is the electronic sensor.
2. On models with the hummock drive of a speedometer take a fixing finger and disconnect a cable from a driving gear wheel. On other models disconnect the corresponding electrical wiring.

3. Turn out a fixing bolt and remove it together the thermofilter (if that is provided).

4. Take driving assembly with the conducted gear wheel from a case of RKPP and remove it together with a sealing ring.

5. In case of need the gear wheel can be taken from a transmission case (do not forget to remove an epiploon) check a condition of a gear wheel, in case of detection of mechanical defects make replacement. Without fail replace a sealing ring.
6. In case of identification of signs of wear or damage of the conducted gear wheel it is necessary to check also a condition of the leading gear wheel.

7. For extraction of the leading gear wheel release from transmission the right power shaft (see the subsections "Epiploons of Power Shafts" and "Right Power Shaft" in the section Replacement of Epiploons). Turn out three fixing bolts and remove a casing of the leading gear wheel of the drive of a speedometer from RKPP case (together with a sealing ring). Take the leading driving gear wheel from assembly of differential, remove all adjusting washers.



1. Establish adjusting washers in differential, then get the leading gear wheel of the drive of a speedometer on the regular place, having tracked correctness of input it in gearing with reciprocal grooves. Establish a new sealing ring on the back party of a casing of driving assembly. Establish a casing on transmission and strongly tighten fixing bolts. Estimate degree of wear of an epiploon of a power shaft, in case of need make replacement. Fill in transmission a power shaft (see Replacement of epiploons).

2. Slightly grease with dense lubricant of a sponge of a new epiploon and a pin of an axis of the conducted gear wheel. Put an epiploon in assembly of the drive of a speedometer.
3. Establish a new sealing ring and fill driving assembly on the regular place, having tracked correctness of introduction of gear wheels to gearing.
4. Screw a fixing bolt (at the corresponding complete set do not forget about the thermofilter) and strongly tighten it.
5. On models with an electric speedometer restore initial connection of an electrical wiring. On models with the hummock drive connect a cable, greasing where it is required sealing rings. Fix rubber a cable by a cylindrical pin (finger).
6. Lower the car on the earth.
