Diagnostics of malfunctions of system of ignition

At emergence of violations always first of all it is necessary to make sure of functioning of systems of ignition/injection of fuel that not violation of quality of electric contacts or neglect is performing procedures of routine maintenance a cause of failure. Check a condition of the filtering element of the air cleaner, spark plugs (including measurement of an interelectrode gap), hoses of system of ventilation of a case, etc. (for more details see the Head Routine maintenance). Also check adjustment of a cable of gas (see the Head of the Power supply system and release). At violation of stability of turns of the engine perform measurement of compression pressure in cylinders and check installation of valvate gaps (see. The repair procedures which are not demanding extraction of the engine from the car - petrol engines).

If during the executed checks it is not possible to establish a cause of failure, the car should be driven away on car repair shop. The electric contour of a control system of the engine switched on the diagnostic socket to which the special reader allowing to establish the reasons of the violations taking place in the shortest terms is connected without resorting at the same time to the testing connected with risk of inactivation by ECU separately of all knots and components of the corresponding systems.

The only checks of system of ignition which performance lies within qualification of the average amateur mechanic are described in the Head Routine maintenance and concerning survey of spark plugs, and also the check of the coil of ignition described in the present Chapter. Check of a condition of an electrical wiring of a chain of system with use of the schemes provided in the Head Onboard electric equipment can be in case of need made - surely before disunite the electric ECU socket(s).
