The jack which is included in a basic equipment of the car is intended only for performance of change of wheels (see below). In all other cases it is necessary to use a jack of cart type, or after a poddomkrachivaniye to install the car on strong props.

Towage

In case of serious damages there can be a need for emergency delivery of the failed car to car repair shop. Any motorist in the practice surely comes up against situations when it is required to carry out towage of other vehicle. Towage on long distances has to be carried out only by forces of specialists of evacuation service. If the distance is rather small, towage can be carried rather simply out by own forces with attraction of the second car. Only strict observance of some special rules is required:

• Use at towage of the emergency vehicle the sling which is only specially intended for this purpose which can always be got cheap practically in any shop of automobile accessories. On back glass of the towed car the alarm plate of the corresponding content has to be established.
• Do not forget to turn a key in the lock of ignition of the towed car in position of ON, otherwise inevitably there will be a blocking of a wheel. Besides, at the included ignition activation of indexes of turns and stoplights becomes possible.
• The towing sling should be clung only for the eyes which are specially intended for this purpose.
• Before towage do not forget to release the parking brake and to transfer the transmission to neutral situation.
• The driver of the towed car has to try to hold a towing sling constantly tense in order to avoid accidents of running-down him by wheels.
• Before a start of motion drivers of both vehicles should coordinate among themselves a route.
• The movement has to be carried out only with moderate speeds and along the shortest route. Avoid sharp braking, accelerations and turns.
• Remember that at the switched-off engine efficiency of braking of the car considerably decreases because the amplifier of brakes ceases to function. In view of told, habitual efficiency of braking is reached due to applying to a brake pedal bigger, than usually (at the working engine) effort.
• On the models equipped with the power steering bigger effort it is necessary to put also to a steering wheel when maneuvering.
• On models with AT it is necessary to observe some special precautionary measures, the neglect performance of which can lead to a transmission exit out of operation — consult in company service center of the Citroyon company.
