Check of level of hydraulic liquid

In hydraulic systems of cars of the Citroyon Xantia brand the mineral liquid like LHM having green coloring is used. Use of hydraulic liquid of any other type, including usual brake fluid, can lead to failure of rubber consolidations and hoses of system. You store hydraulic liquid in hermetically closed container equipped with the corresponding label.

The car has to be parked on the flat horizontal platform, whenever possible with a hard coating.
Remember that an indispensable condition at service of components of hydraulic system is the requirement to careful respect for purity. Before starting adjustment of level of hydraulic liquid wipe a cover of a jellied mouth and the surface of the tank surrounding it. Add only pure hydraulic LHM liquid!


1. Need for frequent performance of adjustment of level of hydraulic liquid is an obvious sign of existence of leaks of the last. It is necessary to reveal a source of leak immediately, and its reason to eliminate. On the Citroyon Xantia cars the general tank of the hydraulic liquid used both in the brake system, and in system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel is provided.

3. At the engine working at single turns transfer a control lever an active pneumatichydraulic suspension bracket to the situation corresponding to the maximum road gleam.

4. The tank of hydraulic liquid is located in a back part of a motive compartment. Wipe a surface around a cover of a jellied mouth with pure rags. Find an observation port in the top part of the tank.

5. Level of hydraulic liquid in the tank is checked through a special observation port in the top part of the last. The yellow float of the indicator (A) has to be between two red rings (In).

Results of check can be considered reliable only at the suspension bracket stabilized in most lifted situation.

6. For adjustment of level use only company hydraulic LHM liquid of green color, stored in hermetically closed container. To raise level from the lower red ring to top about 0.5 l of liquid are required. uncover a jellied mouth of the tank and carefully wipe it. Watching indications of the indicator through an observation port add necessary amount of hydraulic liquid in the tank (its level has to rise to the top red ring). Establish into place a cover of a jellied mouth and kill the engine.
