Capital repairs of power shafts - the general information If during conducting the checks described in the Head Routine maintenance signs of wear of hinges of equal angular speeds come to light, park the car and take off a decorative cap of a disk / the central cover of a nave. If the R-shaped clamp is not lost, the effort tightening of a nut of fastening of a power shaft has to remain also normal. In the presence of doubts take a clamp, remove a lock cap and by means of a dynamometer key check effort of tightening of a nut. Do not forget to establish into place a lock cap and a clamp. Repeat check for the second shaft. Carry out trial runs of the car, listening to the sounds proceeding from stupichny assemblies of forward wheels at commission of turns with completely turned out steering wheel (serially in both parties). The metal gnash will testify to wear of the corresponding external CV JOINT and need of carrying out its replacement. The vibration arising at acceleration of the car with high probability testifies to wear of internal CV JOINTS. For assessment of degree of wear of hinges remove power shafts and make their dismantling (see Replacement of rubber protective covers of CV JOINTS of power shafts). In case of detection of defects replace the corresponding hinge / assembly of a power shaft (consult at car repair shop). |
