Check of level of gearbox oil (model with RKPP)

On some models the otpuskaniye of a jellied/control stopper of a case of RKPP is made by means of a special prutkovy key of square section. Similar keys it is always possible to acquire in company service centers of the Citroyon company.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Park the car on the flat horizontal platform, whenever possible with a hard coating. Check of level of gearbox oil has to be made before the first in the present day trip, or not less than 5 minutes later after switching off of the engine. If to make check right after a car stop, a part of oil will appear the transmission distributed on surfaces of internal components and for the accuracy of measurement it will be impossible to be charged.
2. Release fixing clamps and uncover access a loker of an arch of the left forward wheel. At the corresponding complete set it is necessary to remove also protection of a case.

3. Carefully wipe a jellied/control stopper and RKPP case surface adjoining to it.

4. Turn out a stopper, wipe it and replace a sealing washer.

5. Level of oil has to reach the lower cut of a jellied/control opening. A small amount of liquid usually accumulates under a stopper and follows at extraction of the last from an opening that is not a sign of correctness of filling of a box at all. For check of level wait for the termination of its effluence, then begin to fill in fresh through an opening. Continue gas station of liquid until it does not begin to follow too much openings. Level of liquid can be considered normalized when the effluence of its surplus stops. Use for adjustment of level only transmission liquid of the required grade (see Specifications).

6. Filling of the transmission with gearbox oil is among enough troublesome procedures. In addition it is necessary to remember that distribution of oil on internal cavities of RKPP happens to a certain temporary delay that needs to be considered at intermediate checks of level. Having finished adjustment of level of oil, make on the car a short trip during which oil has to be distributed finally in the transmission. Then kill the engine and repeat check.
7. Remember that check of level of gearbox oil has to be made on the car installed in strictly horizontal position. Prepare suitable drain capacity for collecting the following surplus.
8. Having finished adjustment of level of oil, replace a sealing washer and tighten a stopper with the required effort. Carefully collect the spilled oil, then establish into place an access cover, having reliably fixed it by clamps.
